May 18, 2013- The 2013 AOBA National Show and Auction
We had an amazing night at the AOBA National Show and Auction. We raised $16,000 for our troops! Thank you, Marc and Sharon Milligan (Red Granite Ranch) for the purchase of Sedona. And thank you, Laurie McCallum Hoffman and Dillon Hoffman of Happy Hounds Alpaca Ranch for the matching donation and Crescent Moon Ranch for adding a breeding. A special thanks to Deb Dorband and Wayne Dorband of Mountain Sky Ranch for donating Sedona to the Sock Brigade and helping us raise $16k for our troops! Thanks to all who made this happen.

At the Futurity Auction, we had an "initial" sale of Nancy Love donated by Aero Ranch to a group of farms from Canada for $2,100. They included:

Kevin & Leanne Sept

Ariya Alpacas
Gerald Perron
Janette Archambault
Margot Lande
Karen Shaver

Then, they donated her back to be auctioned off again!! The final purchasing farm, for $1,500, was:

King and Prince Alpaca Farm
Shannon Osteen & Tony Tindol

Wings and a Prayer Alpacas (owned by Sock Brigade founders, Barbara and Randy Coleman) added a breeding as well. More details here...

At the Nationals Event in Denver, we raised $6,000!!! And we made an announcement: We are now purchasing socks from Flaggy Meadow Fiber Works. Socks made from U.S. alpaca fiber manufactured right here in the U.S.A.

Thank you to all who donated to the auction:

Timber Lodge Alpacas donated a framed photo of U.S. Veterans from Pearl Harbor and Iraq.

Shawn Malloy of Royalty Fiber Farm donated a box of 24 alpaca socks to send to our soldiers overseas.

Jude Anderson & Amanda VandenBosch, AOBA Senior Judges, donated a full day seminar.

Judy Steele of Polo Fields Farm has donated one of her beautiful pottery pieces.

Weather’d T Ranch donated one woven alpaca rug by T3 Weavers.

Pucara International donated airfare and accommodations for the 2011 Pucara Premium Reserve Auction.

Sock Brigade and Lamb Chop raised over $19,000 at the Priority Auction in Las Vegas!!! Thank you to all who donated items to the auction, and thank you to those who went home with those items.

The bidding on "Chai Tea" raised $9,000 as part of the night's donations to the Sock Brigade. Thank you Nancy Wright of Always Accoyo Alpacas for donating Chai Tea. Nancy had won Chai Tea in a previous raffle and graciously redonated Chai Tea to the Sock Brigade for this auction.
