The Hamilton Standard Prop

The propeller, a Hamilton Standard made in the United States and now permanently located between Babeldaob and Koror, is of uncertain origin. Used on American B-24's, F4U Corsairs, F6F Hellcats, and TBF Avengers, examples of each were shot down and, by the records, could have crashed in this area. Because the tips have been sheared and bent, measurements have not proven helpful. On one return visit, I enlisted help from a friendly bunch of divers, but we failed, despite several dives around the site, to find any more than this propeller standing twisted but upright on the coral head. This big prop used to be attached to a plane - I just need to find the rest of it and it is out there, somewhere.
