P-MAN V Update Series, #1

Hello Palau Supporters and Friends!

Tonight is my last night in CONUS. Tomorrow morning I start heading to the Republic of Palau. This year I'm taking my laptop with me so the update series from the field should be easier to produce. Maybe even with pictures this time, bandwidth be damned!

As a recap, The BentProp Project, founded by Pat Scannon, searches the waters and jungles of Palau for World War Two aircraft crash sites, in hopes of repatriating some of those heroes that never made it home from the war. Last year I went for the first time, and I guess they liked my jokes as I was invited back again.

You can get the official BentProp updates on the website as Jennifer Powers of PostStar Productions will be posting her updates from the field there. PostStar Productions is making a documentary film about The BentProp Project.

My updates are going to those who expressed interest in hearing about these further adventures, those that have provided material support (and you know who you are) or those I'm just trying to suck up to (and you know who you are too).

So, the next time you hear from me, it won't be from here. It will be over there. Somewhere. I'm hoping from Japan with my CompuServe connection. As you can see, I'm not above shameless marketing pieces.

PS Lessons Learned ALREADY!

1. While winter in Michigan is in full swing, -4 degrees last night, there's not much chance of finding 100% DEET bug spray.

2. This years adventure equipment doesn't fit into last years suitcases. But they all have wheels.

3. Has anyone seen my dive booties?

4. Semper Gumby, Forever Flexible, IS the motto of P-MAN V.
