Solid copper bar stock - LONG copper bar stock!
These objects were two solid copper rods. One rod was 1 inch in diameter, the other was 1.25 inches in diameter. Each rod was approximately 20 feet long (!) and each was bent roughly into a "U" shape. No, they're not copper pipe. They're solid bar stock. The objects were in a hilltop area that contained a fair amount of unexploded ordnance (mostly mortar rounds) but no discernable structures.

A
little scraping by Pat confirmed that they're solid copper!

There's a reasonable chance that there is more material like this in the area, but given the abundance of UXO and the complete absence of any structures, we elected to cut the survey short.
Question: No tire-kickers, please. If you don't KNOW what 20-foot-long copper bar stock might have been used for, you'll probably guess all the same stuff that we've already guessed - like grounding rods, for example. And remember, it's not pipe - it's solid. Anybody got a high-probability answer to this one?
